Brevard County, Florida | Palm Bay–Melbourne–Titusville
Brevard County is located in the eastern central part of the US state of Florida. According to the 2010 census, the population was 543,376, making it the 10th most populous county in Florida. The official county seat has been in Titusville since 1894. Brevard County includes the Palm Bay-Melbourne-Titusville, FL Metropolitan Statistical Area. It is found along the east coast of Florida and borders the Atlantic Ocean.
With an economy heavily influenced by the John F. Kennedy Space Center, Brevard County is also known as the Space Coast. As such, it was designated with the telephone area code 321, as in the 3-2-1 release. The county is named after Theodore Washington Brevard, one of Florida’s first settlers and state comptroller.
A secondary provincial administrative office center was built beginning in 1989 in Viera, Florida, a planned community in an unincorporated area. The district offices were developed to serve the more densely populated southern part of the long province.
